Netflix 3D movies were added to the streaming service a few months ago along with SuperHD. While a great feature, Netflix 3D is limited by some things. The current requirements are as follows:
Netflix 3D Requirements
- You must be in the United States.
- You must have a PlayStation 3 and a 3D TV OR if you do not own a PlayStation 3, then you must own an LG 3D TV that is one of the following versions: LM6200, LM6400, LM6600, LM6650, LM6700, LM7600, LS5700, LS5750, PM4700, PM6700, PM6900, PM9700. More devices will be added as long as the public demands more.
- Your Internet Service Provider must be connected to the Open Connect CDN Network of Netflix, such as Cablevision. So if you turn on your Netflix right now and you see a 3D section, then your ISP is part of this network. If not, the next best thing you can do is call them.
- You need to have an Internet Speed of preferably 12 Mb/s for the best 3D experience in terms of quality, however the minimum is prescribed as 6 Mb/s.
The Netflix 3D movies catalog is that not big right now, nor that amazing. However there are some worthwhile movies which I would recommend such as Beowulf, Art of Flight 3D and Flying Swords of the Dragon’s Gate.
