While the title might not be a selling point for many right away, Amazon seems to bring the glasses-free 3D display of its upcoming smartphone as a top feature according to a recent Wall Street Journal article. To give more details on the matter, Amazon has two smartphone devices in the works, one of which might offer a glasses-free 3D experience. More companies seem to pursue this technological advancement in the 3D field, one of which is Dolby as Dolby 3D partnering up with James Cameron to provide glasses-free 3D televisions.
Amazon entering the smartphone market is not hard to imagine as a success. The customer base and history in almost every single category the company offers should be given more than one thought when disagreeing with their choice of providing glasses-free 3D screens on their devices. It might sound like a harsh assessment, but I stand behind numbers and I believe that Amazon’s statistics strengthen their decision.
The smartphone’s technology will allow the user to view the screen’s 3D visuals from all angles and appear as if floating on the screen, unlike the Nintendo 3DS screen.
